Thermal pools, private tubs & steam baths

The Day-Spa Center has 16 geo-thermal outdoor pools of different dimensions and lay-outs, all naturally heated, thanks to the geo-thermal activity of Volcano Pacaya nearby. This family spa resort is fairly quiet during the week and a separate pool area is specially reserved for Spa-Med-Holiday's guests.

The natural geo-thermal water is found at a temperature of between 62C. and 70C. (144F. and 158F.). It comes totally odorless and colorless. It is pumped into a series of natural refrigeration tanks, from where it flows directly to the outdoor pools, as well as inside, into the private tubs and stone steam baths. The whole process is totally natural and ecological.

The restaurant/cafeteria, the private tubs and the steam baths are located inside the main building. A spacious private annex of the day-spa is used exclusively as massage parlor. There are separate dressing rooms and showers for men and women. From all the outdoor pools and terraces you can contemplate the surrounding mountains as well as the majestic Volcano AGUA. Once immersed in the hot mineral pools you feel in total harmony with nature and can experience total bliss.

At St Teresita spa resort, the pool water is constantly being renewed: “fresh” hot mineral water falls from small cascades into the pools so that there is a constant flow of in and outgoing water.

The pools are all different sizes, the larger ones are mainly destined for swimming and the smaller ones for soaking. Some are roofed to protect in case of rain or against too much sun.

In the indoor spa facilities, you can soak alone or with a partner in one of the 12 private tubs. All private tubs are “freshly” filled for each use with hot mineral water and you can choose the water temperature you'd like to immerse yourself in. After each use, the tubs are drained, disinfected and rinsed.

There are also 29 private stone steam rooms, where you can inhale the natural mineral vapor impregnated with natural eucalyptus leaves. Both the tiled tubs and the stone steam rooms are equipped with a shower.

The temperature of all the pools, private tubs and steam baths can be regulated and adapted to the different needs of our guests.
